Welcome. This is a free course that takes you from zero to a solid understanding of AI, data science and big data, and shows where each idea runs in the real world on Microsoft Azure.
Who it’s for
Section titled “Who it’s for”You’re starting from zero, or you work in IT and want to move into data and AI. You don’t need a maths degree. If you can use a spreadsheet, you can start here.
How each lesson works
Section titled “How each lesson works”| Step | Where | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Watch | YouTube | A whiteboard video of about 10 minutes, built on real data |
| 2. Read | This site | The key diagrams, common confusions and where the idea lives in Azure |
| 3. Check | GitHub | A three-question quiz before and after the lesson |
| 4. Practise | GitHub | Homework in three levels: Core, Stretch and Challenge |
| 5. Share | Discussions | Post your homework, ask questions, help others |
A new lesson comes out every week. Short videos during the week recap one idea each.
Videos in four languages
Section titled “Videos in four languages”Every lesson has audio in English, French, Spanish and Japanese, with subtitles in all four. On YouTube, choose the language under Settings → Audio track.
Theory first, then Azure for real
Section titled “Theory first, then Azure for real”The course has two tracks. First the theory, in eight seasons, where every lesson ends with where the idea lives in Azure. Then a hands-on track where we open those services for real. Whenever we use Azure, you’ll see what it costs and how to switch it off, so you never get a surprise bill.
Where to begin
Section titled “Where to begin”- Start with Lesson 0.1: The Map, even if you already know some AI.
